Today we are going to take a look at a very interesting theory that has recently emerged and to some degree transcends your metabolic type.
After all, that is kind of the point, isn’t it?
Our body works on the principle of homeostasis.
Roughly translated from what I guess must be Latin this means, “The body stays the same”.
Now if you’ve been looking in the mirror lately and saying that very phrase, “The body stays the same”, doggone!
What do I have to do to make it change?
Well we’ve gone over some very specific recommendations in prior articles depending on your metabolic mitochondrial type but here is a great way to get started.
Take a look at your last attempt at weight loss and how many inches came off.
Dare I say it, your last “diet?”
If it worked you wouldn’t be reading this so here is the plan.
Do something very different from what you did then.
If you went on fruit and nuts, try beef and celery.
If you went on all protein like Atkins, try a Mediterranean type of diet with veggies, nuts and oily fish.
If you lived on protein bars and shakes, go for fruit and whole grain (but keep those whole grain portion sizes down!).
Whatever you do, deviate radically from your usual eating habits in terms of what, when and how much (please, try not to eat more!)
This is a lousy diet plan for a long term diet but a great way to “induce” your metabolism to get started on burning calories.
Then you switch to the type of diet recommended in the metabolic mitochondrial typing articles.

Every once in a while I get an email from someone that says something like, “Dr Dave, I saw on this diet site that it’s not my fault that I am heavy and that I just have to eat the right foods to lose weight. Exercise is not important; I just have to eat the right foods.
What do you think?”
My honest opinion is that you are being deceived.
You can lose SOME weight by eating the right foods, and you might even keep it off.
But if you’ve really got a weight problem and are not just dealing with “Vanity” pounds, you must add some kind of exercise into your routines or you will always be heavier than you want and always be disappointed.
As far as who is to blame for the weight problem, I don’t care.
All I know is you need to get past all that stuff and focus on your desires and your health.
If you need a little shock to do that, then so be it!
While the following can be used in low doses and easy segues to fat loss, you can also crank the doses and crank the intensity for shocking results.
