If there is a history of eye problems in your family you need to know this

I had the wonderful opportunity to present info on telomeres to the St Louis Optometry Society along with my co-author Dr Mike Fossel.

There was of course a lot of information on Omega 3 fish oil by me and several other presenters.  The main info centered around the prevention of America’s number 1 cause of blindness, Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), and how fish oil might be hugely helpful in preventing this tragedy.

Firmly believing that knowledge is power, I also wanted to remind you that if you have a first degree relative (mom, dad, sister, brother) with AMD, you have a 50% higher chance of getting it yourself.  You should do three things for sure. Get yourself on one of the many zinc, lutien, Zeaxanthin combos and get your Omega 3 levels up to par with fish oil.

Since AMD is an inflammatory disease and since the retina depends on DHA for its essential fats, you should be protecting yourself from future blindness in every way possible.  Sadly we no longer make our eye formula – I guess we were, as usual, ahead of the curve.  The other thing you need to do is get yourself tested for the genetic markers for macular degeneration.  There are two main ones and four lesser ones that will help you protect yourself from this form of future blindness.

I plan to include more information about this in my future books but you have exactly what you need right now.

Don’t forget that fish oil.
