People joke that men have two brains. From a purely scientific point of view, you might actually have three. The third one lives in your gut, and the more I read the research, the more convinced I am that it deserves a seat at the table when we talk about focus, mood, and how well you age.
The gut-brain axis has gone from fringe idea to established field in a remarkably short time. And it turns out this connection has a lot to do with the things my readers care about most: thinking clearly, feeling steady, and keeping a sharp mind as the years add up.
